In Marathon D’Écriture by Andrew Komarnyckyj, Alan Bland, armed only with a typewriter and a heart heavy with loss, embarks on a relentless six-day, six-night writing odyssey to unravel the enigma of his vanished friend, X. As memories of a tangled love triangle with the magnetic Amara spill onto the page, Alan’s prose frays into fevered revelations, blending raw grief with shocking secrets. This dark, genre-defying romance from a master storyteller grips like a pulse, daring you to race through its haunting depths. Will you endure the marathon?

_____________________

Andrew Komarnyckyj is a storyteller whose eclectic skills and work life fuel his sharp, genre-defying fiction. From lawyer to hospital porter, PR consultant to kitchen porter, his kaleidoscope of experiences described by himself as a “happy accident” lends his novels a rare depth, intellectual strength and authenticity. This vibrant backdrop shines in his new dark romance, Marathon d’Écriture, a tale of love, secrecy and revelation that promises to captivate readers surprises of any kind .

Andrew is the author of several books including The Revenge of Joe wild and Ezra Slef, The Next Nobel Laureate in Literature, a novel which the Washington Post said: “pays deft homage to Nabokov, Borges, Flann O’Brien, and other tricksy authors.”

Best known for Literary Fiction, he also writes psychological thrillers and horror using the pen-names Jack D McLean and A K Reynolds.

His work often defies classification. The only genre to which it truly belongs is Komarnyckyj, a genre with postmodernist and alt-lit tendencies, always bordering on the absurd and unexpectedly humorous.

Working in a great tradition

The publisher‘s blurb for this novel is superb and compelling that i will go straight to a comment : the book has something in common with Leonard Cohen‘s two novels and especially Beautiful Losers. The emotional hooks and shocks are well paced. This is a departure for the Washington Post celebrated author of Ezra Slef. The denouement is surprising and i only guessed it at about 90 per cent read. A compelling story that has a life affirming conclusion and which is surprisingly satisfying. Recommended.
